Through 8/20, 10% of sales will go to United Way of Northern California, which provides aid to organizations and individuals impacted by wildfires in California.
My family and I recently stayed in a cabin at the lovely Wylder, south of Lake Tahoe. It was the last stop on a road trip, filled with hiking and lake swimming, and stops in wondrous places such as the Columns of Giants.
The trip was cut short. The area had become engulfed in smoke from the Dixie Fire that was (and still is) burning over 150 miles north. As we drove south to head home, we saw smoke for hours from other fires. I’m sure you’re with me in hardly being able to comprehend entire forests and U.S. towns being wiped out by fires, and now in Algeria, Turkey, Greece and Sicily.
My previous donations have gone to organizations benefiting the homeless. In that same vein, over the next week I'll be donating to benefit victims of wildfires who have lost their homes and belongings.
